On August 24, 2014 our 16 member organizations were presented the "Access to Front Line Staff Award" at the NACHC CHI Welcome Reception aboard the USS Midway! Each of the 16 members of the Council of Community Clinics created outreach teams in the community, provided individual assistance, and education about the new options for health care coverage and access. They provided essential one-on-one assistance in order to help people complete their application. The Certified Enrollments Counselors, based at each of the community health centers, were unsung heroes in the success of both the Medi-Cal Expansion and the Covered California roll out. Their efforts helped our region to achieve remarkable goals for new Medi-Cal and Covered California applications.
